The OE Winter Reunion was held at Eltham College on Sunday 15 December, which turned out to be a cold and blustery day! A formal lunch, a netball and rugby sevens tournament, and the First XV game against the recent leavers were all part of the reunion. Followed by the traditional afternoon tea after all the outside activities.
The Headmaster and Governors have announced the capital development plans for Eltham College over the next few years by launching the Centenary Campaign. In 2011 the Governors commissioned a report by a firm of architects, Barnsley Hewett and Mallinson, which highlighted the growing pressure on teaching space throughout the Senior School.
Cancer pioneers and OEs Trevor and Ray Powles (1949 - 1956) were recently honoured at the Pride of Britain Ceremony with a 'Lifetime Achievement' Award for their cancer research work which has saved thousands of lives in Britain and around the world.
One of the largest reunion dinners in recent years was held at Eltham College at the beginning of October. Leavers from 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988 and 1993 were invited to come back to the school for a dinner, hence the title ‘All the 3s and 8s’! With over 70 OEs and guests in attendance, Central Hall was used to its full capacity.
A careers forum held at the start of October, saw the focus on a new subject matter. The forum panellists, all Old Elthamians, were experts in Environment and Sustainability, and spoke about their roles and their career paths.
A group of 2003 leavers met in London at reunion drinks a few weeks ago. Messrs Baron, Thomas, O’Dwyer and McGrahan, along with Mrs Galloway were there to catch up with the group who were marking 10 years since leaving Eltham College.
Recent leaver, Louis Barclay, played the lead trumpet with the London Schools Symphony Orchestra.
Jonny Bond (2008) has joined the Eltham College PE Department as a Graduate Sports Assistant.
The 2013 Eltham College leavers have achieved yet another set of excellent A level results, with a record 73.1% of grades at A* or A.
Old Boys beat the School 1st XI on a gloriously sunny day at Eltham College.
The 2013 ECCO concert was a great success on Saturday 29 June, with 10 Old Elthamians playing in the orchestra.

OE Ian Grant (1967) hosts a group of Upper Sixth Business Studies at the Encyclopaedia Britannica UK head office in London.
We returned once again to Simpson's-in-the-Strand for the annual London drinks gathering on 7 March 2013.
The Eltham College Library has launched a series of displays about well-known Old Elthamians. Starting with Sir John Adams and George Band OBE.
Former Head of Art, Maurice Paul, passed away at the beginning of February. After working at Eltham College between 1978 and 1995, Maurice retired to West Malling in Kent.

Eltham College hosts first Oxbridge Evening for pupils in the Lower and Upper Sixth. OEs were welcomed back to speak of their experiences at Oxbridge.

The inaugural OEs v Eltham College golf match takes place at Sundridge Park Golf Club. It's hoped that from small beginnings this match can become a regular, eagerly anticipated and fiercely contested annual fixture.
