The first OEA reunion in Nottingham for many years was held at the Pitcher and Piano, a converted church, on Thursday 15 March. We had an area, fittingly under the stained glass window, reserved for our use. There was also a piano on which both Rodney Yates (69) and Tony Payne (64) provided entertainment over the course of the evening. We were pleased that local OEs Rodney Yates and Mark Bairstow (52) were joined by others who travelled some distance to join the merry throng. Father of the house Mike Bairstow did battle with the M1 in both coming and returning to Market Harborough and Malcolm Boyd (74) travelled up on the train from Oakham. Ben White (99) joined us after being at a parent’s evening at his school in Loughborough and Nikhil Arora (04) breezed in having been prosecuting in court in Liverpool all day. These OEs were joined by more recent Eltham College leavers who are studying at local universities. Pictures of the event can be seen in our Flickr archive here.
