Sunday 30 June turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year and the Eltham College grounds were in perfect condition to host the OE summer reunion day. The school 1st XI welcomed many familiar faces back to the grounds as the OEs brought a strong side to defend their winning run against the school. The OEs batted first and once Mike Lawrence had been dropped before scoring, the Old Boys went about scoring freely with Rich Fleming hitting 53 and Lawrence himself getting 71. After Foster had dismissed Fleming, Charlie Speller came to the wicket and also scored freely on his way to 58. The OEs timed their innings well and were able to push things along at 6 an over to score 231. Before the innings was finished Freddie Foster (Lower Sixth) removed Jack Robertson to record his 48th wicket of the term, thus being the second highest wicket-taker in a season in the past 100 years. The total proved to be more than enough as school wickets fell as they strove to keep up with the run-rate. The school evened up the score in the second XI match, chasing down a total of 180 with five over to spare. After both games a BBQ was enjoyed by all the cricketers and spectators outside the Marathon Pavilion, the new home of the school's 1st XI team.
