Helping with Exam Stress

Friday, 29 May, 2015 -- Helen Wilson

OE Dr Jason Gould (1997) ran a session at Eltham College at the beginning of May with the Sixth Form on dealing with exam stress.  As a Chiropractor, Jason often sees the effects on the body that stress can have and by encouraging the students to make some simple changes to the way they approach their study leave, it was hoped that some of the stress of their public exams can be alleviated.

The session was very interactive with the students being given advice on topics such as sitting correctly at their desks through to taking regular breaks throughout the day and exercising properly.  Jason also spoke about the importance of maintaining a good diet and the effects that too much caffeine and sugar have on the body and mind.

Due to the success of the session, we will be extending it next year so that the Year 11 students can also benefit from Jason’s advice before they commence their exams.
