On Saturday 14 November, Eltham College welcomed 96 OEs and their guests for the 2015 Annual Reunion Dinner, which this year was for leavers from 1960, 1965, 1970, 1975, 1980, 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000. The reunion was a chance to reminisce with old school friends and take in all the changes around the school that have taken place over recent years. The evening commenced with tours of Eltham College led by Simon McGrahan, Mark Stickings, Keith Barron, Paul McCartney and Elaine Galloway. Luckily, the weather was kind on the evening and the lack of rain made the tour around the school a pleasant stroll! The Chapel was one of the most popular places to stop, with many taking a moment longer to have a look around and try and work out which seat they had been assigned as Prefects. After the tours, OEs had the chance to browse through all the memorabilia and photographs laid out in the Old Library, which led to a great deal of amusement and nostalgic memories. The champagne reception held in Central Hall gave everyone a chance to have photos taken in their year groups. Once all the champagne had been drunk and photos taken, everyone made their way to dinner in King George’s Hall. This year, school chef Darren Scott-Fleuret and his team, created a menu based on school dinners including a fish and chip starter, beef pie with mash and apple crumble tarts to finish. The dinner ladies would have no doubt been very impressed with all the clean plates! The evening was rounded off with coffee back in Central Hall, which was filled with laughter and memories, uniting friends, in some cases, after years apart.
