2015 Annual Fund Campaign

Monday, 11 January, 2016 -- Helen Wilson

The 2015 Annual Fund Telephone Campaign raised £90,062 with two thirds of the money going towards Bursaries at Eltham College.  A huge thank you to everyone who supports the annual fund.

Projects supported by the 2015 campaign, include a set of ski tuning equipment and radio for the Eltham College Ski team, a new initiative at school. They have had a great start to the year and are all excited about the winter season.  Results in competitions for the Michaelmas term were outstanding, with highlights being the Under 16 team finishing second at the National Finals and the Under 12 team finishing third in their respective age groups.  Looking ahead, in January the team will be competing in Wengen, Switzerland, in the British Schoolboys Competition and are also hoping to send a team to Les Houches, France, to compete in the Interschool Championships in March.  It will be in these overseas competitions that the racers will benefit from the new radios, and the tuning equipment is allowing all of the skiers to maintain their equipment throughout the year.

The Greenpower project, run by the Design and Technology department, is going well with support from the annual fund in the form on a universal metal machine and stand. The Music department continue to organise fantastic performances throughout the year, and the annual fund will pay for a gala concert showcasing the brass players in conjunction with the Bromley Youth Music Trust. The concert will take place on Monday 29 February at The Cutty Sark.
