Fred Ryder attended Eltham College from 1939-43 and passed away two years ago at the age of 86. His daughters Jan Perks and Sue Bush (in photo) visited Eltham College to see where their Dad had come to school and learn a little more about his days here.
On Tuesday 7th of October the Eltham College Economics and Business Society welcomed its first external speaker of the year. Rosie Wakeling an OE who left in 2008, now working for Accenture, a consultancy firm that operates in over 56 countries and employs over 280,000 people.
Michael Barton (2010), a physics graduate with high functioning autism, will give a talk describing how autism should be thought of as a difference rather than a disorder and how he has found ways to use his autistic attributes to his advantage. The talk is part of a national speaking tour.
On Tuesday 14th October, an invited panel of OEs and Parents spoke to the students about the advantages of studying a modern language to degree level.
New Headmaster, Guy Sanderson, invited OEs to join him for drinks at Simpson’s-in-the- Strand on Thursday 9th October. It was a chance for Guy to meet many OEs and to speak to them about what it meant to him to take on the role of Headmaster at Eltham College.
The 4s and 9s Reunion dinner was attended by the Classes of 1964, 1969, 1974, 1989 and 1994. Held at Eltham College on Saturday 11th October, for many this was the first time back at school since leaving.
